PopVibe privacy policy

Last updated 2 September 2026

PopVibe is operated by Alkamar Investments Ltd. This policy explains what the app collects, why, who else sees it, and how to get it deleted. It covers the PopVibe website and the PopVibe Android app.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your contacts, your calendar, your photo library beyond the images you choose to upload, or your location in the background. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who else sees your information

We use other companies to run parts of PopVibe. Each receives only what it needs, and none of them may use your information for their own purposes.

Some of these providers are outside Kenya, so your information may be processed abroad. We use them under contracts that require them to protect it.

We will also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety.

What other members see

Your name, photographs, city and profile details are visible to other members. Anything you post, or say in a group or a show, is visible to the people there. Private messages are visible to the people in that conversation. Our staff can see reported content, and account details where they need them to run the service or investigate a report.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account we remove your profile, photographs, posts and messages within 30 days, except where we must keep something longer:

Your rights

Under Kenya's Data Protection Act 2019, and equivalent laws elsewhere, you may ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, or stop using it in a particular way. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya.

Most of this you can do yourself in the app, under your profile. For anything else, write to support@alkamar.online and we will answer within 30 days. To delete your account without installing the app, use the deletion page.

Children

PopVibe is for adults. You must be 18 or over to hold an account. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and we delete any account we find that belongs to one.

Security

Connections are encrypted. Passwords are stored hashed, never in a form we can read. Access to member information is limited to staff who need it. No service is perfectly secure, and we will tell you and the regulator if a breach puts you at risk.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app when the change is significant.
